Kaki King by far and large, she is an artist that I have watched grow from a small local virtuoso to a semi big indieish rock star. I have seen her well over a dozen times since 2002 and she continues to amaze and astound me each time I have seen her. One show while playing with a trio of musicians i came to realize why people loved Hendrix and early pink floyd. watching somebody in complete comand of their instrument make such wonderfull noises changed me irrevicablly.

Jeff Buckley. He died way too young. Every time I walk around NY, I think about the way he sang at Sin-e and how it was all about the music. He was king and I wished he lived long enough to collaborate with Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Beto Cueva, Charlie Mars and so many other artists that carry a hint of his sound.
